Hello
My name is Stephen Woods,
My Grandfather served with the 2nd Corp, unfortunately he was killed on the 11 April 44 at San Biagio prior to the Poles taking Monte Cassino.
His name is Blazej Wiewiorka My fathers family came from Jankowce and Zabojki , after the deportations to Siberia ,my Grandfather , my father and uncle were the only ones to survive and make it to Persia.

 

Once in the Middle East my grandfather was assigned to ....3 Company , 18 Lwowska Battalion , 5 Kresowa Infantry Division.
He saw action on the rivers Sangro 15-02-44 and Rapido 11-04-44 , KIA San Biagio 11-04-44.

This photo is the only one I have of my father , Jan is on his left, my uncle , Tadeusz is on his right .
I'm trying to find more information about the Poles and hoping someone may even know of him,

My Father and my uncle were 2 of 732 orphans that were brought out to New Zealand 1944.
